In honor of USMC LCpl Michael J. Allred, who lost his life in the service of his country on 6 September 2004 in Iraq, and to express their gratitude to a loving community that supported them at the time of their loss, Michael's family has created a scholarship fund to assist those wanting to attend Utah State University in Logan, Utah.

Scholarship Awards for 2011
The Lance Corporal Michael J. Allred Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce that eight $1,000 scholarships were awarded for the year 2011. The recipients were Thomas Belliston, Maury Beorchia, Natalie Greene, Jordan Jarrett, Brianna Olsen, Katie Sorensen, Kayla Thomas, and Serena Von Niederhausern. Ride for the Fallen - LCpl Allred's Run
The 2011 Ride for the Fallen - Cpl Allred's Run took place on Saturday, 27 August 2011, and was once again a wonderful event. For more information about the ride, go to www.RideForTheFallen.us. Plan on attending next year's run on Saturday, 25 August 2012.
Sincere and deep thanks to the riders, sponsors, donators, community supporters, and family and friends who helped to make the 2011 Ride for the Fallen an outstanding event. More than 300 bikes made the Preston-Mink Creek-Bear Lake-Logan loop in memory of all those who have given their lives for the cause of freedom and to remember all those who continue to serve and sacrifice for our great nation.
